If you come for prescription services, we serve by queue number. Our pharmaceutical staff will provide up-to-date instructions for the medications prescribed to you. If you need more information about social security reimbursements, we are also happy to advise on that.
We accept expired and unused medications
If you have expired medications at home, bring them to us! All medications returned to the pharmacy are processed as hazardous waste.

Prescription Renewals and Proxy Services
You can request the renewal of your prescription at Kaivopuisto Pharmacy! If you have an electronic prescription that has expired, our pharmacy staff can forward a renewal request to your doctor on your behalf. Renewal requests can also be made by contacting your health center or through the omakanta.fi service.
You can also act on behalf of another person, such as your child or spouse. You can act on behalf of another person by presenting:
- the person you are assisting's Kela card, patient instructions, printed summary OR
- by creating a Pharmacy Proxy authorization through the suomi.fi service. Then, proving your own identity with a passport, ID card, or driver's license is sufficient. The authorization is valid in all pharmacies in Finland and allows, for example, picking up someone else's prescribed medications, renewing prescriptions, and accessing Kela and prescription data.
